A few factors may reduce the chances of pregnancy:

Body Weight: overweight and under weight can both have adverse impact on fertility. A healthy BMI between 20 and 25 increase chance of fertility. 

Diet: Sugar intake will cause inflammation, ages the reproductive organ and reduce the egg quality. Fried food is full of trans fat induces inflammation and insulin resistance.

Stress: Stress is normal in daily life. When it is unmanageable, it will reduce the chances of fertility as stress releases chemicals and hormones like cortisol that interfere with follicular development and inflammation processes for ovulation.

Two things need saying before anything practical.

One: the medical pathway comes first. Your GP, both partners, at six months of trying over thirty-five and twelve months under, sooner with irregular cycles. Two: the trial evidence on acupuncture and conception, including during IVF, is inconsistent and does not support a claim of improved outcomes. We will not give you a number, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

What people come for, in practice, is support through a long and demanding process, and that is worth having on its own terms. Appointments are timed to the cycle rather than to the same slot each week: often one in the follicular phase, one around ovulation, and around IVF specifically one before and one after transfer. Tell us your dates and we hold the right slots.

The safety rules, which are not negotiable. Your fertility clinic must know you are attending. Herbal medicine during an IVF cycle needs their explicit written clearance, because some herbs are avoided during stimulation and around transfer. During stimulation the abdomen is often tender and ovaries are enlarged, so needling and positioning change accordingly — tell us where you are in the cycle at every appointment.

We are in Freshwater, ten streets from Balgowlah and about twenty from Manly, which matters when you are already spending mornings at a clinic across the bridge. Late appointments exist.
