What a registered practice cannot post

Worth knowing, because it explains why this account looks different from some others.

As a registered health service we cannot publish testimonials about clinical care, cannot promise outcomes, and cannot use before-and-after claims. That rules out most of what fills the acupuncture side of social media.

If you follow an account that does all three, you are looking at either an unregistered practice or one not complying with the conditions of its registration. It is a useful thing to be able to spot.

What we do post

How things work, what the evidence supports and where it runs out, clinic news, and hours.

Clinical questions

We will not answer one by message. Describe a symptom and the reply will be an invitation to ring, because an answer without a history and an examination is a guess — and you would be entitled to act on it.

Bookings

By phone, not by message. 0410 699 065. Messages are not a reliable queue and an appointment that was never recorded is an appointment that does not exist.

Your privacy, in public

Please do not put health details in a comment. They are public, permanent and searchable. We remove them when we see them.

Sharing what we post

Share anything you like. What we would ask is that you do not add a claim on top of it: a general post about what acupuncture is studied for, forwarded with «this cures X» written above it, becomes something we could not have published ourselves.

Out of hours

000 for an emergency. healthdirect 1800 022 222 at any hour.
