What is offered, what it costs in time, and what it is used for.
Acupuncture. An hour first time, forty-five minutes after. Fine needles, lying down, usually with heat. Used most here for sport and mechanical pain — surfers\u{2019} shoulders, swimmers\u{2019} necks, runners\u{2019} knees and calves — and for cycle-related symptoms, sleep and the physical side of stress.
Herbal formulas. Concentrated granules, prescribed after a consultation and adjusted at review. Used where the picture is internal and ongoing. Reorders need a review; postage is possible once you have been seen.
Bodywork alongside needling. Soft tissue work on the area being treated, which for most musculoskeletal presentations is part of the same appointment rather than a separate booking.
What is not offered: weight loss programmes, ear seeds sold for weight loss, detoxes, or treatment of mental health conditions — the last of those goes to your GP, who can arrange subsidised psychology sessions.
How many sessions: three or four for recent problems, six with a review for long-standing ones, and a change of plan rather than a repeat course if nothing has moved by the fourth.
Prices are given before treatment starts, including what a full course is likely to cost, because finding that out session by session is no way to make a decision. Health fund rebates depend on your level of cover and we can tell you what to check with your fund. We are in Freshwater, ten streets from Balgowlah and about twenty from Manly, and late appointments exist.
